Flag of the Democratic Republic of Zaire (1966-1994)

A history where Mobutu is a communist and a Chinese, and later, Yugoslav ally. Thanks to Comrade Mobutu, Zaire and Yugoslavia had nukes. Unfortunately, Mobutu is as insane as in OTL and Rwanda and Burundi proved to be fatal to his regime. He sided with the Hutus in Rwanda and nuked parts of Rwanda with a dominant Tutsi population. The Belgians and the French were not amused when it turns out that the casualties of the Lake Kivu nuclear strike included a French UN peacekeeping camp. Four French nuclear strikes, against Zairian army positions were enough to distintigrate Zaire.

I remember another flag of Zaire - the one with the torch. I've been interested in national flags and geography since I was very little, and I remember when the Congo was known as Zaire. When they changed their name back to Congo, it was hard for me to understand it at first, since I've been growing up with recognizing it and its flag as Zaire.

I see all these other flags in your gallery. How did you find out about all these other flags? I'm a flag buff, but I never imagined some of these to have been existent.
