After Quebec independence in 1995, the new Quebec Air Force is in a dire straits. All of the f-18s in Quebec soil are still belonging to Canada and had to hand it over. Fortunately, the French are willing to aid their Quebecois brothers with a full squadron of Mirage 2000 fighters, at a discount.

This belongs to Captain Maria Ozawa, a Quebecois of Japanese descent, who according to her, might have been a Japanese porn star instead [speaking of which, happened in the real world, you should know this already

] if Quebec remained in Canada. She flies this Mirage 2000, number 501, for the 1st Combat Squadron of the Quebec Air Force.

The roundel is based on the real world Quebec government's roundel for helicopters and executive jets. In the timeline, this was applied to military aircraft as well.
